I am about to pull the trigger on a 2019 BX 1880. The owner/seller says he purchased it in May 2019, for $17,500. It has 50 hours on the meter, and he's offering it for $12,000. It is equipped with a 54" Kubota mid-mount mower, and a front end loader bucket, with lever release. The 1880 is a little smaller than I wanted, but it will be primarily used for mowing about 2 acres, and clearing a driveway of snow that is 20 feet wide by 90 feet long, plus a little firewood work. I guess my only concern is that it seems like it maybe under powered? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the tractor would be adequate for the described tasks. I suggest you request proof of ownership. There is no title on a tractor but there should be a bill of sale from the dealership.

Definitely get the original Bill of Sale. It should still be sitting on the dining room table!

Also do a UCC and check for a lien. If there is a lien, make sure it is paid off at the same time you pay for it at the bank/dealership that did the loan. You can run a check on the internet for free in most states (which I just recently learned). Also, go to the buildmykubota website and see what a new one cost and subtract 15%. This is what you can probably get a new one for.

The OP is in Vermont. We are in Florida.

OP will be fortunate to get 8% off MSRP.

Do I recall there are deals on new BX1880s at the moment, and that there's a pretty good finance offer? A nearly new tractor should have enough discount to make it worthwhile to not just buy new on finance (and perhaps get exactly the tractor you want, not just the one that's available).

Just an FYI to those that did reply. I sent a message, via email, to the seller, asking that he provide me with a "Bill of Sale" from the selling dealership, and asking him to find out from either Kubota, or the dealer, how the transfer of warranty is done. His reply was "I CAN SURELY DO THOSE THINGS, BUT IT EXPOSES YOU AS HAVING NO TRUST IN YOUR FELLOW MAN". I have since passed on the purchase. One of the strangest transactions I've gotten myself into, for sure.
