2016 XR3135 DPF direction

Today's bonehead award goes to....
I have my DPF removed and neglected to note the cans orientation when it was installed.

I expected to find a stamped arrow or some feature the would state the flow. My service manual does not give any indication. What I have are some numbers printed on one end of the honeycomb and the LS tag on the outside of the can. Unfortunately I can not say for certain based on these and I did not take a picture before uninstalling.

I've searched this forum with no luck, so I'm asking for some help. Can anyone say the DPF can orientation or maybe one of you with the same machine take a look and describe for me the LS tag orientation on the can?
Any help would be much appreciated.

On my 2018 XG 3135 the label is closer to DOC/Turbo (rear of machine) than the exhaust (Front of machine). Hope that helps.
Did find I bent the grill guard now have to straighten it next nice day so the hood opens without a crowbar Never get angry at a hay bale

Thanks Eagle1. I appreciate the help. I also found a youtube video that corroborates what you describe. I had thought that this was the orientation, but could not be certain without someone or something providing some confidence. Here's my screen shot of the video showing the tag and the markings on the honeycomb of the DPF.

Replaced the turbo and couldn't bring myself to putting the DPF back on without attempting some cleaning on it. So yes, a good long soak in a DPF cleaner, warm water rinse and nice long drying bake in a 450° oven. I'm Hopeful I can get things back together today.

If you don't mind what did the turbo set you back and how many hours? I agree no way I would put the DPF back without cleaning.
I have ~900 on mine and get a slight turbo noise on cold starts. Fine once oil flow is up. Just been babying it on start up....

I found it cheaper at online stores, but none actually had it stocked. Wound up using an LS dealer that had it for me in 5 days. Of course they're nearly 2 hours away from me.

LS listed Turbocharger pn 40265779 updated to pn 40376580 set me back $1600. I'm sure it can be found cheaper.

You'll need these two gaskets, on ebay, about $15 each.
LS Gasket-Turbo-EGQ185 40313560
LS DPF Gasket-EGQ185 40265777

And I used a gallon of MotorPower Care In-House DPF Clean from Amazon about $50.

My machine has 550 hours and the turbo started squilling at cold starts probably 50 hours ago. Like you, I started taking care at cold start and it lasted longer than I expected, but one day at full rpm and working temperature she had enough... BOOM!

Hope that helps. Not a hard job, but felt a little pricey.

Thanks, time to find and shop for a rebuild kit. Looks like a cartridge system and should be less than $200 for the parts.

Yep that sounds just about in line with how things work out for me.

Regardless, I'm up and running again now. All's well that ends well, I guess.

Just have to find them. That turbo is KP35 BorgWarner part number 16359880097 (or 16359700097 or 16359800097 all the same spec) but it is only used in the Mtron application. So parts and replacements are not all over the place. I can get whole turbo from Europe for under 1k. Need to track a real person state side that sells turbo part, kits, etc and see what they can so for me.
Not in hurry and have flash flood damage to fix.
If I learn anything I'll post it to the LS section.

BTW used a chain and bucket hydraulics to unbend my grill guard
