Ford has announced the hp/tq of 440/860 for the 2015 SuperDuty with the 6.7 diesel engine. GCWR of the F-450 pickup is now 40,000#. 2015 Ford Super Duty Truck | Power Stroke & King Ranch | Ford.com The 6.7 Ford diesel is also being offered in the new F-650/750 Superduty Commercial trucks.

as for the torque wars, it is so far gone it doesn't even matter anymore. in fact, the others are downsizing their diesels to get higher mileage! Ford in fact, is behind - hence their new "Lion" program.

I don't consider this announcement being "on top" anymore. Otherwise Cummins would just drop a 6C engine in.

Yep, I agree. Ford, Chevy, whatever. You can't beat a Cummins. From tractors to ships to smaller locomotives. .. even pulling trucks. They're hard to beat. Give me less hp and a few more mpg...

Those are impressive numbers for sure! I still would be nervous about having that kind of weight behind a p/u though regardless of brand. Are they going to be putting air brakes on p/u's next? Getting a load moving is hardly the task it used to be. Getting it stopped with all the "EXPERT" drivers on the road really concerns me the older I get. Who's going to be the first one on here to step up and buy the first 100k pickup? lol

The Ford is impressive, it has 4.30 axle gears which is what a truck needs for towing. Wonder what the next Ram Cummins will crank the power up to?

I've had two F-450 pickups, an '08 and currently a '12. The '15 F-450 will be a lot like my '08 because it will have the 19.5" commercial grade tires and the heavy Dana 110 rear axle. The F-450 also has the wide-track front axle which adds to stability but allows the tires to cut sharply for a tight turning radius. Both of my trucks have been premier towing machines and I can only imagine how the '15 will handle a load with the extra horses under the hood.

so Cummins now make trucks? i always thought they stuck to engines?

Does the 450 have a beefier frame than the f350? I would imagine they would come in different lengths also?
