2015 F150 Tow Test vs. Dodge and Chevy

Sounds like some fun challeges especially without boost. Don't take this the wrong way but my comical statements about displace wouldn't include your lineup because you are still starting with old school foundations. I was speaking along the lines of the new direct injection, variable valve timing, turbos, etc which have changed the displacement rules greatly. Glad you are seeing good results and having fun.
There is a newer mustang running around (2005 or so) with an eco boost out of a F150. No internal mods but has exhaust upgrades and has turned up the boost some. Word is he has made several high 10 second passes. Again, have not seen it run with my own eyes. He supposedly drives it all over getting 18 mpg with a/c blasting. Times are changing!!

Amen to that! Now, if we could just get a little rain here in central MO!

Currently 72 degree is southern indiana. Yesterday I had an enduro motorcycle race and it was 105 heat index. Weird summer.

So much for global warming.

It has definitely been a weird summer. Very cool so far (and I'm not complaining...I HATE the heat).

Not only are the trucks aluminum but they added more standard options to the truck so aluminum did not jack the price up hardly at all.

I'm wondering how the weight the saved on the new truck is going to help fuel economy. I had around 1200lbs in my bed Sunday and it did not seem to hurt my MPG's.

Very positive indeed! On the lower level trims, it amounts to about the rate of inflation, or the normal yearly increase. On the higher-end models, the amount of new features make up the bulk of the cost. You can buy 1 Platinum, or two XLs for about the same price. :)

It will help the city number more than highway numbers, but that will bring up the combined number a bit. The highway number isn't based on completely flat ground, so it should help some there as well, just not as much as city numbers.

Did they do away with the 3.7 V6? The article says base 3.5.

I think I'll keep my Dodge (2013 with hemi).. we drove the Ford with 5.0 litre and just didn't like the truck itself. Engine was fine, but the truck didn't pass muster with me. First Dodge I've ever owned, they had to be doing something right to make me drive something with the 5-sided mark of the devil all over it ;)
