It's a Vermeer WR20 and I do not like it. Get the Kuhn speed rake
These H&S hi-cap rakes are good. I bought my 14 wheel model in 2002

I usually put dry down close to a rain. The blend is up to you and what your soil needs. Liquid is good,if have some weeds can get them to spray at same time. Where are you located I can look up and see who does it close or most feed stores if you know had it or will know who does it. Usually cutting and baling and not putting something back in soil will catch up on yields.Even with all the rain, my yield is down this year. 237 in 2013 but it looks to be about 185 this year. Guess that means fertilizerHaving never put down fertilizer, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to go about this. Spray? Dry spread? Where to buy? Cost? I've got about 90 acres of bermuda/fescue.

What does a rake like that cost?
I have the connections to hire the work but that's not my goal. I've got access to a 500 gallon boomless sprayer and also a 900lb capacity 3pt spreader. What I DON'T have is a CLUE - lol. Having the soil tested is easy-breezy ... after that, I am nothing but questions.
Yeah that's a nice rake, maybe one these days, can upgrade. Not cheap by any means but mine will rake three 9 ft swathes. Another thing I like is windrow width is adjustable independent of raking width. The windrow width remains set at 4 ft even if hay is thick enough to only rake one swath which is what I did on some fields in 2007 when the field made 8 bales per acre(4X5.5). Mine cost $9K in 2002 but it has now raked several 1000's of acres of hay,48,000 bales to be exact(30,000 on my 1st JD 467 & 18,000 with my last JD 467)
My FIL and I just picked up the exact same Tedder two weeks ago, only ours is a manual. We use an MF135 to Ted and it doesn't have rear remotes. We have never had anything but a 2 basket and man is that 4 basket a time saver! We managed to get just under 800 small square bales up in 3 days last week. Had real hot weather so it cured fast. Cut another field that should yield around 250 squares today and will cut the last field in the morning.
