Looks like one of the upgrades from the 2013 models is optional air ride suspension on the Dually, and coil spring with optional air ride for the 2500.

I think the air ride is good idea. It will ride like a car unloaded and not squat loaded. Hopefully it will hold up. The air ride on cars and SUV's does not hold up like it should.

I agree. They got one chance to get it right. The air ride in others have been problematic.

I dont have much faith in the coil spring suspension for the rear axle. Scrolling down a little bit shows two different air bag options. One with a mono leaf four link?, and one with a true four link. Looks promising. IF they try an go cheap with mopar bags there might be problems. If they source the bags from goodyear, it could be promising. I may have to trade in the international if there aren't to many bugs with the new system!

I'd be really curious what the weight capacities are and if they changed also and what the ride quality is like. Hopefully not mushy when loaded. Might be great going down the road but provide some problems on certain surfaces unless the shocks are first rate.

Plenty of people have hand calculated and posted the results.

Looks like 20 is legitimately possible with a SRW truck. The 4.10 duallies are getting 17 or so.

Remember that ALL SRW Cummins powered trucks come with 3.42 gears. 3.73 and 4.10 ratios are available on the DRW trucks only.

FWIW, the 6.4 was never a viper engine as stated. Hope they get the suspension right, love my 2500 but it can beat you up on a rough road.

Why? Need to think outside the box. 67-72 GM half tons had rear coils. They are just as strong as leafs!!

These are still LIGHT DUTY trucks, and stopping rsther than pulling should be the biggest concern. You want a class 8 truck, buy one. Fo not buy a light duty truck to mack the real trucks.

Coils are just as strong, and give a better ride. Combine them with air bags, will have a better truck.

Then why did they go back to leaf springs?

The leaf springs in the Dodge NEED the air suspension to be able to handle the weight that others handle with leaves.
