Just looking for recommendation. I am looking at a new KIOTI DK50 HST or a used 2011 RX6010 with 230 hours. They r both about the same price. I use my current tractor for moving large logs to cut for firewood, snow removal for about 1/4 mile long lane located at the bottom of a mountain, and I also plant at least 3 acres of food plots in spring and summer and brush hog some large fields. I know people have said they prefer hydrostatic for hilly terrain which I will admit there are occasions when it would be nice. I currently have a shuttle shift gear tractor and I can do everything I need to do with a gear type of arrangement. I am wondering if it is worth giving up the new hydrostatic for a used gear driven tractor that has 10 more HP and has also depreciated so I won't feel that part of buying a new one. Physical size is within 4" of each other in width & height, RX6010 weighs about 1,300 lbs more and wheelbase is about 9" longer. I know if I go with a smaller tractor there may be times I wish I had a bigger one, but if I go with the larger I am pretty sure I won't regret it. I also plan to put a backhoe on whichever one i decide to buy and I feel the larger may provide a better platform and stability for digging. Any recommendations or input is welcome, I am hoping to make a decision before Christmas.
I had a DK40hst for 2 years and loved it. when the RX6010 came out had to have more power. so I sold mine and bought one. I do a lot of landscaping and new lawn installation's. this tractor is to big for the application so sorry to say its for sale. it only has 32 hours on it and has all options heat/A/C, radio, lights, turf tires loaded for weight, loader with80" bucket, rear view mirror.
