Buying Advice 2013 Kioti DK50 HST or 2011 RX6010

   / 2013 Kioti DK50 HST or 2011 RX6010 #11
Just looking for recommendation. I am looking at a new KIOTI DK50 HST or a used 2011 RX6010 with 230 hours. They r both about the same price. I use my current tractor for moving large logs to cut for firewood, snow removal for about 1/4 mile long lane located at the bottom of a mountain, and I also plant at least 3 acres of food plots in spring and summer and brush hog some large fields. I know people have said they prefer hydrostatic for hilly terrain which I will admit there are occasions when it would be nice. I currently have a shuttle shift gear tractor and I can do everything I need to do with a gear type of arrangement. I am wondering if it is worth giving up the new hydrostatic for a used gear driven tractor that has 10 more HP and has also depreciated so I won't feel that part of buying a new one. Physical size is within 4" of each other in width & height, RX6010 weighs about 1,300 lbs more and wheelbase is about 9" longer. I know if I go with a smaller tractor there may be times I wish I had a bigger one, but if I go with the larger I am pretty sure I won't regret it. I also plan to put a backhoe on whichever one i decide to buy and I feel the larger may provide a better platform and stability for digging. Any recommendations or input is welcome, I am hoping to make a decision before Christmas.

I had a DK40hst for 2 years and loved it. when the RX6010 came out had to have more power. so I sold mine and bought one. I do a lot of landscaping and new lawn installation's. this tractor is to big for the application so sorry to say its for sale. it only has 32 hours on it and has all options heat/A/C, radio, lights, turf tires loaded for weight, loader with80" bucket, rear view mirror.

Well it is a done deal. Talked with the dealer today. It is scheduled to be delivered Friday December 27th. I am off that day so I will be getting some seat time in then. I have some logs to move for cutting firewood and I will get to test out the grapple, also I have some stumps to bury and plan on digging the holes with the backhoe. Looking forward to putting on the hours in the cab and ready for some snow now too. Thanks for all the input and this forum is a great resource for good information. Merry Christmas everybody!!!!

That is one heck of a Christmas present! Makes me wish I had the land for that...though I don't think I could go from HST to gear for how I like to play...er...work.

Real nice! Couple of things to verify before delivery: make sure they have the backhoe return line routed to connect at the fill port for the transmission, not the second QD at the remotes on the rear of the tractor.
And have them make you up a short loop with two male QD's to attach when the backhoe is NOT in use to keep the detented remote from deadheading the pump when there is nothing attached to the ports...
And have them move your right side hydraulic line that is hanging down by the step to where it can't get ripped by sticks/branches....

I think you got a smoking deal on that tractor package. Well done. Enjoy!

P.S.: I've never seen that brand of grapple before, but it looks well-built.

The backhoe return can also just be hooked up normally using the remotes. There seems to be a fad here with dumping the return as Coyote describes but it really isn't necessary. Ask Kioti or Kubota why they don't make a big deal about this.

Well here she is. Delivered Friday December 27th. Cleaned up around the property with the grapple and then today removed 2 stumps with the backhoe. I really enjoy this machine and the cab is really going to be nice during the cold weather and extreme heat. Love the backhoe and next project is a 3' deep trench 150' long for water and electrical lines.
