That's about the way its always been. The total sales are down from the glory days of 2005 ish but the ratios stay the same.

I didn't realize the Tundra was that strong. I assumed it had pockets of the country that it sold well in while others that you couldn't give one away. Around here Ford is by far and away #1 in sales but I see as many Tundras as I do Chevy/ GMC trucks. But this area loves the Tacoma so I would assume that if someone with a Tacoma decides to go larger they will go to the Toyota dealership first.

In the past, the Silverado 1500 has outsold the F150, as a large portion of F-Series sales were the Super Duty. It's only the last couple years that the F150 has started outselling the Silverado 1500.

Add the Sierra to the Silverado and see what happens...GM has a split brand, Ford doesn't.

I'd buy the Tundra numbers...I see them around, probably in the ratio displayed.

I was surprised to see how weak Nissan was. I guess that is what you have when you have a ten year old design.

Around here I see lots of Tundras. They used to be built in Princeton IN, now they are built in San Antonio TX.

In the half-ton class, yes, GM still outsells Ford. But when you include 3/4 and 1 ton classes, Ford outsells the combination of Chevy and GMC.

And, IIRC, in the 3/4 and 1 ton classes, Ford outsells Chevy, GM, and Ram combined.

1/2 tons are the vast majority of the market...I believe this analysis was general use pickups...I don't see a fleet number either...Ford tends to flood that market at year end, at least they used to, which used to crank the numbers up (never cared enough to look into that over the last few years)...

Even with the 1 ton and 3/4's added in..The difference apx 7% (3% with the Avalanche)...Not really material...A very competitive market with each holding it's own..A good thing in my opinion.

I don't base my buying decisions on what the masses do anyway. :drink:
