Steering wheel does not stay in same position when steering. Steering wheel turns but tractor wheels do not turn the same at some times when turning to the right.

All my NH's do the same thing. Left or right turns do not matter. If you do a full turn, the steering wheel does turn further. Why I don't know. but it doesn't bother me.

But if your steering is doing some strange, then check the steering cylinder. Maybe something is wrong?

One of my 40 series New Hollands is doing the same thing. My best guess is we have a valve problem in the steering control valve. Perhaps a relief valve sticking open. Sometimes by turning slightly back and forth it will go ahead and steer the wheels further around.

Installed seal kit on tl100a steering cylinder on tl100a. Fixed the problem

I am pleased to hear it. The 5640 doesn't have weights in front, so I made a reciever hitch to go there, and we push the haywagons into the sheds with it. Gets very frustrating when the steering isn't responding properly. I think, if memory serves, that the cab must be removed to get at the steering box.
