Howdy Fella's:

I tried to search the forums for the right answer before posting this but,
couldn't find quite what I was looking for.

I just replaced the fuel filter on my 2002 DK35, she fired up of course, then sputtered out and died after about 45 seconds.

There is plenty of fuel in the bowl, and the new filter is good and soaked in the bowl.

It just won't start now. I presume that there is air in some place it shouldn't be. I just don't know where that shouldn't be is.

So, what do I need to do to get it fired back up. Where/what do I need to bleed?

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my DK 35, ended up being a small rubber o ring I inadvertently dropped on the ground when removing the old one. Only by luck I accidentally found it on the ground while trying to figure out my problem. Put it in and fired right up.

Yup, I almost did that too, but the o-ring is in place.
Any other suggestions, I need to get to turnin' some dirt before the snow flies!

Just keep cranking. Assuming your fuel switch on the filter housing is in the right place. You just need to get the air out of the fuel lines. Keep cranking could take several tries. Let the starter cool a bit between tries.

You need to bleed the air.
On top of your fuel pump there is a small round knob.
Open the knob and try to start the tractor to bleed the air. Once it starts close the knob and you should be good to go..

Gotter'.

Thanks for the help!
Opened the knob and bled the air, and after SEVERAL frustrating tries, she finally starting running like a sewing machine.

Dumped a little Sea Foam in the fuel tank too, it has 630 hours on it, and has never had Sea Foam treatment before. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Well, let's talk about the good news. It's a good thing this happened and it going to be a better world because it. The same thing is going to happen next time you change your fuel filter or just run out of fuel on the job. If that ever happens you now know what to do.
