Tc40 new holland
I have a tc 40 2001 gear drive that seems to be having transmission issues . When I go up an incline in 2 med (really any gear it almost slows to halt and I have to gun it. The engine does not loose power or any other signs it just feels sort of like the drive gears don’t have any power.

I was going to start with a hydraulic/trans fluid and filter change and go from there. Anyone else ever have this happens ? Thanks

By the way had to start a new account as I had not been here in years - life site goes fast but I’m back.

Sounds like it's time for a new clutch to me.

Do you have any free play on the clutch pedal? It should have about 1". You can try and adjust the linkage but once it starts slipping, there isn't much hope in adjusting.

Total sense..
Sorry I missed that in the original post..
That would definitely point to transmission problems, or whatever NH is calling it..

If it is gear drive, sure does sound like a slipping clutch.

Make sure your clutch is adjusted properly and the clutch arm is loose when released. Dont bother with changing the fluids at this point.

It's a dry clutch. Sounds like it's slipping or worn out as said above.

What is the free play now?
