2000 yamnar FX24D

After reading many discussions on the FX24D, I've come to the conclusion its a decent tractor that may need some mods for a taller person. So price and hours is my concern. According to some, you could see 3000 to 4000 hours on these machines? I the link doesn't work,The unit I'm looking at has 1500 hrs, Loader, brush hog for $6900. Sheet metal looks good. Main duties will be Brush hogging on mostly level ground but there is some slope involved that I'll be going up and down, not sideways. Some post holing and light loader work. How does the Hours and Price sound?? Thanks

I,m not real familiar with that model , But looks to be in decent shape , I wouldn,t say its a bargain, but a fair price .

As far as the hours , as long as its been maintained properly & no Major wear on Components , Which they more then likelly checked out , hours shouldn,t be an issue IMO . I,d say 1500 hours is average for these types of tractors in My experience .

I recentlly got rid of an older comparable size Iseki tractor with loader only , that had 2900 hours on it & never had any major issues , with plenty of life left in it . I got 6 grand out of it . I just didn,t need it anymore . Best of luck . Bob

FWIW, the represented year of the FX24D (2000) is in error. My information indicates they were manufactured from '84 to '86

(FYI - The 3PH top link has been replaced with a sway chain, the seat is aftermarket, the front wheels are reversed and I don't see ROPS or seatblets)

To add to Mark's comments a little. In addition to the incorrect age and the extremely clean condition as shown in the pics, I'm wondering if this isn't a VN recon.

Hours and price is decent IF not a VN recon.

Mine had 1200 hrs on it when purchased and has been a great tractor. There is an issue with loading the FEL. I've weighed mine and did the calc and with nothing attached to the 3pt. You'll find the front axles are carrying the max rated capacity for the stk tires. That said, I've not had any failures but with 600-800 # load the tires are looking pretty flat.

Looking at the pics, I'm surprised not to see the UFO controls. I'm wondering what else this tractor doesn't have in the way of features/opts?

I'm glad I posted this question. I NEVER would have noticed the little things. Thanks. I was kinda thinking as clean as it is it may be reman. But usually those have much lower hours? Thanks

That is a lot of money for this Yanmar.

When I decided I wanted to buy a Yanmar, I spent some time in the summer looking at tractors, and then I purchased one in the dead of winter. I saved mucho buckos by buying then. Do your homework as you are doing now and buy a tractor at a time and place to maximize your negoiations to your benefit.

I bought a F24 a few years back with about 1280 hours on it with a new 60" bushhog and the USDTA safety equipment for $6700 from Fredricks. After 2 years and 200 hours I've had no problems.

One more small indication that it has been taken apart and repainted is the small tool bin behind the seat is missing.
