I own a signature 2000 elite riding mower. It is a 14.5/42. We had the tires filled with special stuff, so that when you run over something they don't go flat. It was probably bought new around 1997. I will find out soon if it runs. Which I am pretty sure it does. How much could I sell it for? It is in pretty good condition.

Signature was a Wards in-house name for their stuff. That mower was likely made by MTD. I'm thinking your dating might be a bit off, as it may indeed be older.
In any case, old riding lawn mowers of that vintage don't often fetch more than a hundred bucks, give or take. If you post a good photo of it, we could give you better guidance. For sure, in a non-running state, they will generate far less interest.
