2000 Dixie Chopper fuel issue

I have a 2000 Dixie Chopper with a Kohler 20HP engine model CV20V, spec #65605. Will start on first attempt after sitting for let's say a week. After starting if I shut it off and try to restart turns over but no go. I took off the air filter to look into the intake to the carb, it was full of gas. So I'm guessing that it is flooding. Stuck float, bad fuel pump????

If you are seeing fuel puddle in the carb, then yes, your carb is flooding. Here is the suggestion from the Kohler service manual:

I bought a carb overhaul kit. Rebuilt carb and starting/flooding is no longer an issue. Now after mowing the lawn, after 50-100', the engine bogs down. I slow the speed on the mower the engine recovers then does it again.

Is there a high speed fuel adjustment screw on the carb ?

Sounds like it's running lean. The next time this happens, when the engine wants to die, shut it off and check the spark plug colors. Compare the plug tip to a spark color chart.

I have tried adjusting the high speed fuel adjust screw with no luck. Is there a way I could send you a video/audio file (to hear what the engine is doing)?
