Hi All,
First post from a Tractor and attachment newbie! Purchased a low hour 1250 JD with 100 Loader and 4 used attachments, one of them being a 2 bottom plow. We hooked it up and plowed for about 1/2 hr and everything was going great until we hit a massive rock. Now fully understanding the "float control" for the loader after reading this forum, ours was set to stay down and the plow actually uprooted this rock that must weight 50 to 60 pounds. I think we were probably going to fast also (when I say we, I mean my son who was driving). Also reading the tips of hitting the clutch as quick as possible will aid in this not happening again - so lesson learned. We cannot figure out how to get the plow "reset". I have tried backing up on it, but it doesn't budge and slides in the dirt. Should I back against a stump maybe? I don't see a pin sheared so assuming it's not that kind of plow.
I have a buddy with alot of experience that when I can arrange both he and I being off work at same time planning to come try and reset it, but I'd like to learn myself (maybe this will help somebody else coming here too). He thinks it's an 1950's circa International Harvester plow but I can't find a photo that looks exactly like this one. Here are some photos - any help is greatly appreciated! Look forward to learning from all of you!
