Seems like I'm getting a lot of extra advice.

That's kind of what happens when you start off saying "Any and all advice and comments welcome". ;)

I've heard the phrase "buy the dealer, not the tractor."

Probably as many people disagree with that theory as support it. Then again, buying a tractor that's likely undersized for your tasks may over task it, making dealer repairs necessary.

If you don't plan on a front mount blower or a Mid mower, then I wouldn't worry about a mid PTO. If it's like the 4x20's, The mid PTO can be dealer installed at a later date, and the 3rd rear SCV. If you are only dealing with 9 acres, this size will work for you. I would be a little worried if you have allot of sloped ground, then I would say go to a 4x20. I understand what you are saying with ergonomics...especially if you have some disability. The eHydro requires very little effort to actuate the pedals. I choose to buy John Deere because they have served me well for many years, and as long as that continues, I would not consider anything else. Even though they are high priced, they are the best value for me.
I would be tempted to go up to a 4x20 though, wider, heavier, more loader lift.

Ironman, if you intend to keep this machine for many years as you said, then I'd recommend getting the 2013 with the larger tires and mid-PTO. It's not THAT much more money, it is a year newer (which is nothing really), it does have the larger tires, and someday you may find a need for the mid-PTO.

I don't know if there were any other tweaks or improvements between the 2012 and 2013 models. But the cost difference spread over 20 years is very little. At least that's how I'd rationalize it if I were buying it.

Features are important, but comfort is more important. It sounds like you've found a model that fits you and your budget, and that's the main thing. Let us know how it turns out.

I'll close out the post with an update on the final purchase decision. I wish I should change the thread title to reflect Kubota.

I researched the Kubota line in the 30-40 hsp range and decided on a Kubota Grand L3560 (no cab). I also picked up the loader, a 3-way hydraulic blade, and a 5' medium duty rotary cutter. It's a fine machine and I think it is perfect size +1 for our current and future use. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use getting our new river property ready for a cabin next year -- and for many years to come. I'm happy I found this forum/site and I appreciate the feedback and advice on the tractor selection. I'll post pics when I get them off the camera.

Great looking tractor - I think you'll be very happy with that. Envious of that hydraulic rear blade.
