Well, I have 10 hours on my 425 and it is now setting in the middle of my woods and will not start. Was running along fine and it just died..........After some checking around, I found a blown 30 amp fuse near the starter solenoid. Replaced the fuse and as soon as I turned the key on, it blew the fuse again. Anyone ever have that type of problem before? or any suggestions on what to do next?

Thanks

here is a couple threads where folks report similar problems.

PT wont start

PT wont start after 8 hours

Common theme: fuse blew, replacing didn't fix it, problem turned out to be the red wire jarring itself loose from the starter solenoid.

Look under the front panel that covers the steering console. This is a flat plate with 4 bolts. Look for a wire that has come loose and is shorting to ground. Also trace a wire back to the fuel shutoff solenoid on the engine. If this has a connection to ground this will be your problem. These are not things that I have found, just suggestions.
Replace the fuse with a 12 volt light bulb. It will turn on when you turn the key. Wiggle wires and see if it gets dimmer. This may help you isolate the problem without going through a lot of fuses.
I wish I could be more specific.

After troubleshooting with Terry this morning, it seems that I have a bad thermo coupler on the fan. Terry is putting one in the mail. Thanks for the help.
