If you are getting no panel lights, This is not the problem. First, verify that with the switch is in the run position, the battery shows 12V. If not 12V with a load, the battery is dead. If the battery shows 12V, I would start looking for fuse, or a broken wire from the battery back to the ignition area.
If this doesn't turn up anything, its going to get more complicated.
The switch I am referring to is down by the clutch pivot. You should be able to see it fairly easily looking below the foot board, I believe. You should be able to activate the clutch with your hand and see the switch operate. With the clutch released the switch should be pressed in completely, and when the clutch is pressed, it should completely release the switch.
