1996 555d TLB fuel issues. No fuel out of gas tank.

I can’t seem to get fuel to come out of the fuel tank shut off valve. I changed the fuel filter. When I did, I needed to close the fuel tank shutoff valve. Now with the fuel line disconnected from the filter assembly and the fuel tank shut off valve full open, no fuel will flow. Yes tank has plenty of fuel and the cap is off Incase there was a suction issue. I ran a wire in the fuel line to the tank shutoff valve and no obstructions. I tried to pressurize the fuel tank to see if fuel would flow. No go.

Does this tank and valve just gravity flow to the filter system? It looks like that is what it does to me.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

if everything is as it was built, there is a screen filter in the top of the valve sticking up into the tank. I would drain the tank, unscrew the valve and check for a clogged screen /valve inlet

You may have an algae build up collected at the tank output.
