1994 JD 755 2WD

I was looking for a JD 4110 and Found a JD 755 with less than a 1000 hours and looks like it has been very well maintained. I know owners who love the 4110 but none of them knew much about the 755.

I have a couple questions:

Can you still get parts for this machine?
What’s the reliability of this small diesel?

I think it's been mentioned on here before that the 755 is pretty old now and parts are pretty hard to get. If it were me I'd go newer.
Old can be ok if parts are ok to get and reasonable cost. And if you only use it sparingly so time is on your side then for lasting power.

How much is the 755? Loader? I've got a 1995 Deere 855 4WD - the bigger version of the 755. Yanmar motor, Deere built everything else. Assembled in Wisconsin. These are very reliable machines. 2000 hours when I bought it, 2300 now. "Finding parts" is only an issue if something breaks, but they're out there. I found and replaced the water pump (eBay) and replaced the hydro fluid and rear tires, when I first got it 6 years ago. Normal maint stuff since then. Nothing else has been needed (knock on wood).

7900 bucks and only includes a 60” mower deck. We have a 2017 X734 (gas) which does a nice job with just over 900 hours on it but was going to get a machine that was all metal.

My hood is fiberglass. I'm sure the 755 is too. The rest is metal. If you're just going to mow, I think you're better off getting a new zero turn. Being only 2WD and no loader, it's not much of an improvement and over priced, IMHO. My 855 came with a 420 loader and 60" mower deck. I used it as a mower for a few years, but I bought a zero turn for that. I use the 855 as a loader tractor and push snow too. Love mine.

I have an 855, with loader, backhoe, 72" MM deck. A 755 without a loader would not be my choice (might be a little high price). With a loader a different story.

The 855 is my backup mower. I have a little over 1000 hours on it. It is my second one, sold the first one. Between the two, I have over 20 years of 855 ownership. They are great, reliable machines. I have not had much problem getting parts for this one. There are so many of them, there is enough market to have parts available. Though usually a week out from a regional location.
