Are you talking about the 1993 Ford 1520 or my 1991 1520 that I sold?
I am not good at loading pics, and the shot is not really close, but probably could if it is mine you wanted to see?

It's pretty nice, but seems to have very complicated electronics and at that kind of price I will just keep my 1986 Ford 1310

I am making a deal with my brother on my dads 1990 1520. It has 5' mid mower and peco grass system with 8 hp briggs. Only 600 lawn hrs . Clean, clean clean. Giving him $6k for it. Lot cleaner than stuff for sale going for $9k and more.

Hi All, I did an in-frame rebuild last year on my Ford 1310. Now just 50 hrs later I have a blown head gasket. I have the manual and followed the procedures and specs, but in review I noticed that as stated in the manual, head bolt torque specs for the 1310 (Shibaura S753 engine) are only 35 ft lbs!! how can this be true?? also noted that the 1300 and the 1500 both need 110-114 ft lbs. 35 ft lbs just seems so low for a diesel engine, could this be a typo? It is stated as 35 ft lbs on both pages 5 and 26 of the official factory manual (which covers models 1100 through 1700).

Hi,
I replaced my Ford 1310 cylinder head gasket back in 2006 and it's been fine ever since.
No leaks.
I did use Permatex spray-on (copper colored) dressing similar to this:

My "Ford OEM 1310 - 1510 - 1710 - 1710 Offset Tractors Repair Manual" cylinder head bolt torque spec's are: 32.5 - 36.2 lbs.- ft. (my aftermarket manual specs 35 lbs. - ft.).
The above torques are for lubricated bolts!

According to the manual the "piston height above face of block" needs to be measured, since there are three different thickness cylinder head gaskets available for this particular engine.

I followed the manual

It's still a fine compact tractor and I use it regularly.
