1990 Ford 445C
I'm having a hard time bleeding the fuel pump. I'm getting and bleeding fuel into the filters ok but not into the fuel pump thus none through the injector lines. We're getting a slight drip of fuel from the bottom of the pump and am wondering if that is creating an air gap. The tractor was running fine before we had the steering motor valve rebuilt and replaced but now it won't start. Any suggestions how to bleed fuel system properly. It's gravity fed.

Thanks for the response, BUT of course this is the first thing we did with no success. A link would be fantastic if its that easy? We are in the boonies and have never run into this issue with our older 420. Ran great when parked.....

I'm not very familiar with your tractor, and I haven't run into fuel bleeding problems on mine, but perhaps there is something to learn on one of these:

Hopefully someone else knows better.

Did u loosen the bleeder screw by the name plate on the pump.. it’s a 5/16 screw head..
Loosen the screw and crank the engine until fuel and NO AIR comes out..& tighten.
Next loosen ALL THE STEEL LINES AT THE INJECTORS that r coming from the pump..
Now spin the engine until fuel squirts out of the lines and tighten..
Activate the thermostart and crank the engine..
Do all of this at wide open throttle..
Good luck

If u get no fuel squirting out of the steel lines, u have inj. pump problems..
If u have fuel up to the pump inlet but nothing out.. u have pump problems.
