1st cub I ever owned was made in 66 but it wasn't that one. Good machine, got it in 77 with a deck, snow blower, roto tiller and roller for $300.

Then used that rototiller on the 586 we go in 85...still use the roller.

Of course, the machine in the picture wasn't even running and someone had to help the "driver" on and back off or he would break a leg or tailbone in those slick shoes.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Like you say, all the companies do it. And the tractors are way too clean!

Those old cubs with the Kohler engines were and still are as tough a unit ever made. I have 2 of those old things and they still run strong. 12hp Kohler 301 engines that you can rebuild and run again for 30 years. If they still built them with the strength of those older models they'd never sell anything new.

What cub cadets do you have?
And I would definitely agree, Kohler K-Series are built to last.
