1952 serial number with front distributor

i cracked the block on my 49 8n, so i picked up a somewhat complete 9n for $200 planning to rebuild the engine and put it in my 8n, checking the serial number ♢8n-456915♢ but it has a front distributor, (i'm confused) any ideas?

Guy at the factory grabbed the 4 punch instead of the I.

it has the timing hole in the bell housing and the later position for the oil tube

is it possible someone has swapped the cam and front engine cover to use a front distriutor

Anything is possible as folks did what that had to in order to keep the tractors going
