1950 case dc. Negative or positive ground?

I just got tractor and no battery in it.going to get new 6 volt battery and am not sure if it is pos or neg ground as wire going to frame us red.the starter us also the generator so id like to have it rite.thank you in advance for any help

It should be a positive ground. And it should have a standard generator, driven off the fan belt.

the only thing driven off fan is the water pump,it seems to be a starter/generator

I've never seen anything like that on the older tractors. Got a picture..??
