1939 Ford 9N

I started up my tractor, engaged the pto to run the mower, and began driving. Suddenly the mower lifted into the air. I stopped the tractor. re-engaged drive shaft on mower. Mower is now sitting on its wheels and the hydraulics do not appear to function. No hoses or valves on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't plow or mow or grade....

Do you have draft control? I would repost this in the Ford forum so Sound Guy sees it. He is the master of Ford Tractors.

The 9N has draft control, but not position control. You cannot control the height of a cutter as the tractor pitches up or down. Some owners of tractors without position control use chains:

The hydraulics on the ford 9n have a single valve and a single piston which only goes up with pressure and most tractors don't have live hydraulics so the only time to use the lift is in neutral or in a gear to control the lift
