187d yanmar

I have a 187d yanmar and when i have the range shift lever in high and i put in first gear or reverse it takes right off, but if i put it in second or third gear or shift while moveing it slowly goes into gear . Not all at once but like you would be letting out the clutch but of course the clutch is already out is this normal? Only does this with when you have the range lever in high.

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. Higher gears just aggravate the situation. Is it adjusted properly?
