Greetings I am helping a friend who had a ford 1720 model tractor. We find green color anti freeze in the unit. But with the post concerns here with 'cavitation' Im concerned that just it haveing a green colar anti freze means its correct.
Does anyone know if it can run the standsand green ?
If I remember correctly its due to a 'wet' cylinder liner?(not sure whats in the 1720)
Thanks ahead of time..

If your not sure that it has DCA, add some yourself. It wouldn't hurt anything. You can pick it up at a Ford dealer. I use it in Our Poweerstroke and all our etractors.

I use WixCool #24056 cooling system treatment in my diesel tractor. My understanding is its supposed to prevent all that and its available at most parts stores if you dont have a Ford dealer handy. And yes you just use green AF and add 1/2 pt of this stuff to 2 gallons cooling system capacity.

Welcome! That is a bargain even with shipping you are right.

I just checked what I paid for my last bottle @ OReillys-$6.81 and retail is $15.24, I dont pay tax but that adds $ too.

Your antifreeze for the 1720 is regular 50-50 ethylene glycol permanent antifreeze. You need no special additives. The engine is NOT a wet-sleeve cylinder engine. All small Shibaura engines in New Holland compacts use the same 50-50 mix as in cars. Anything additional is a waste of money.
