I agree on the 4.5L- release it already...lol

I am thinking I will go 2500HD gasser next time. I am hoping they release a new gas engine and give more gearing choices on the new HD series.

Im still not sold on AFM yet, nor the long term reliability of it.

The 4.5 Duramax has been dead for years . There was a test run on the Oshawa production line in 2006. That was the end of them.
GM partnered with Fiat's VM diesel . The 2.0L four is used in the Cruz. The 2.8L four in the Canyon/Colarado . There are rumours of the 3.0L V6 in some of the larger SUV's. The same 3.0L is used by Ram in the 1/2 ton and in some of the Jeeps.
The main reason the diesel exists in North America for those who just have to have a diesel. Is because in the rest of the world the same vehicles have diesels .where drivers save $$$ with diesel fuel being much cheaper than gasoline .

With diesel constantly running higher than gasoline, and the emissions crap causing much lower fuel economy in newer diesels, unless you are towing heavy, the advantage for diesels has largely gone away here in the USofA.

Was that hand calculated? The reason I ask is thats a tough number to get with a Cummins, depending on the year. My overhead show about 21 mpg, hand calculated is usually in the 14 to 16 mpg range.

Its off that much? I have never had a vehicle of any brand off more than .5 mpg. 6 mpg off is crazy!

I'm sure he was reporting the computer. His 2012 was a buy back and he got the 2015. I drove the 2012 diesel to Mississippi with a car trailer and got 18.8mpg while towing, so I am believer. I have a diesel BMW and the computer is always on the low side when I calculate by hand. HS
