16 pointer

My 19 year old nephew tagged a 16 pointer last weekend. It's all down hill from there for him!

His dad thinks it's a 3 or 4 year old. It came off his older brothers farm near Ellington, MO which is an area not normally known for racks that large. It's all hardwoods there, national forest, etc.

I have read that when a buck reaches the age of 4 years they become so smart that only 1 of 100 hunters that hunts him will ever see him. I believe that to be true.

I can't, but I've met enough guys out there who can look at an animal and tell you within five inches of what it will score.

I hunted in Africa and shot ten animals, my buddy shot twelve. Except for the zebra and leopard, he was within an inch of what each animal was before we shot it.

I have a taxidermy shop as a neighbor...I get to see a lot of large racks,always been interested in scores.I have yet to shoot one that big!

Man ,solid deer,congrats!With a bow no less.As someone that bow hunts super.Two of my nephews hunted Ohio this year(bow) saw lots but only got a couple small bucks.
