1554 series

hi im moving into 2 acres not much for hills but lots of trees probably be mowing around 60 or so was thinking about the slt or gt 1554 the only thing i plan on pulling is a dump cart, plug aerator, and dethatcher. want to spend under $3000 but dont want to get a piece of crap either. i dont think it is worth it to go up to the 2500 series though. the only thing that concerns me with th 1554 is the 27 hp because it is so much more than the higher models. any suggestions would be helpful. i think im on the right track but would like some info

I would definitely go up to the 2500 series for your kind of work, especially the dethatching requires some power that is IMHO beyond what the belt drive hydro models like to do.

I have a 1554 and love it. I mow 1 1/2 acres and pull a cart, lawn sweeper, aerator, and broadcast spreader for fertilizer. No problems.
I did notice smoking when starting and went back to dealer who replaced valve seals under warranty and now no smoke.
