1540 Seat switch

Has anyone tried to retrofit the new seat switch (external to the seat) to an earlier 1500 series tractor? My (internal) switch froze this winter and I'd like to make the change.

just cut the two wires, wire them together, put in some goop, done

slightly more dangerous, a lot less stuff to deal with.

We did that 2 years ago with the same problem.
