anyway i could get the real manual for the max 25 hst from one of you dealers????? thank you.
I just need to know if you can remove the filter without the oil draining out on a 1538 gear. Does anyone really know, Jambo, Dave?
Silly books don't say squat. I think this is probably the sorriest excuse for a service manual that I've ever seen.
To be honest I'm not sure if you can change just the filter and not make a mess. Maybe if you tip the tractor on its side far enough. I very rarely get a "50" service at 50 hours but I do get that question from customers who want to do the service them self's. If a customer asks I tell them to follow the chart but wait till 100 hr and do the Hyd oil and filter. When I'm doing first 50+ hr. service in shop. I do everything. Fluids and filters. 4WD axle. Air filter only if needed. That gets the services in sink and I have not had any service related issues. Best advice is to use common sense. :2cents:
if you do it at 50 you could clean out any metal or crud in there then instead for grinding all of the garbage in there for another 50 hrs. also the dealer i just am having it done said that failure to do the 50 hr service could mess up warranty issues with Mahindra. but not sure how they can prove it when people do it or do not do it themselves. maybe by oem parts vs. replacement parts/filters that is.
just a thought/comment. but hey - it's your tractor.
mine is only a max but **** it cost very hard earned and saved $ ----took me many years to get it and not about to trash it by skimping on the 50 hr service. Just me...
I always shower with a rain coat on ! :umbrella-guy: I don't like getting wet. Seriously though, Try to use good judgment when doing your service. If your doing heavy work with your tractor and putting the spurs to it. Do the full service @ 50 hrs. fluids, filters, the whole 9 yrds even if it recommends just the filter not the fluid. If you just doing lite work you can fudge it a little. As far as Warranty goes. I will always back the customer, within reason, if a service issue would arise. :thumbsup:Then I think I'll wait until 100 hours to change any of the hydraulic stuff when it makes sense to change both. I don't see the rationale of swapping the filter and not changing the oil. I remember car makers saying to change the oil and only changing the filter every other change but that never made any sense to me either. I always change both. Any other way is like taking a shower while wearing a raincoat.
When I did the complete change at 100 hrs, I found no evidence of any dirt, filings or anything but clean, brand new looking hydro fluid. The old stuff looked no different than the new stuff I put in. There was no sediment, nothing. In my case, just changing the 2 hydro filters would have been sufficient for another 100+ hours, I'm sure.
