Not yet! If all goes well, we should pick it up next weekend and I'll have pics. I can't wait to get out on the beast and tear up some property!

So, I just called them and still no ETA. The rep is traveling so he cannot check for any update until Monday. I'm getting a little anxious to tear up some land..... If the primary implement I needed wasn't the backhoe, I'd go take one of the other new tractors and pick up the backhoe later when that tractor comes in... Maybe the weekend of the 15th... but the 15th is my daughter's birthday and we won't be around that afternoon/evening... the dealer is closed on Sundays. Grrrrrr...... lol!

I suggest your being patient and let them put the backhoe on for you.

Isn't it supposed to be a simple 15 minute procedure to attach or remove the backhoe? (Once you've done it a couple times anyway?) ;)

I just got an email from them... the tractor with backhoe arrived today.... that is the good news. The bad news is they shipped it without a backhoe bucket. What? Really? Hey... it's progress! (I asked them if they checked under the seat. )

For them to install it there would have to be some more hydraulic lines run and additional brackets I believe. But once it is on yes from what I read its about a 15 minute process to install or remove it.

I went up and checked it over anyway. Here's the new beast as it sits today. They are sorting out the bucket issue. Worries me that another one is sitting next to it also waiting for a bucket. I also found one rounded off nut on the backhoe pad and asked them to replace the bolt and nut.

Picked up a golf cart canopy today too... went up the road from the dealer to a local cart place and asked about used tops... They swapped me a gently used Yamaha top for a case of Miller Lite cans! One cheap canopy!

Congrats Jgiannini! Enjoy your new machine. You might try to talk your dealer into ordering the 2540 suspension seat for you as well. It's a life saver on my rough tract. (Maybe split the dealer cost with him...?) LA Confederate has posted some cool 2538 videos on YouTube and there is also one in the other 2538 thread here on this subforum.

Question: if you want the 2540 suspension seat, why not buy the 2540 instead? You'll also get a more capable FEL (heavier, higher lift, more capacity, larger bucket). I've seen other similar posts with 2538 owners buying the 2540 seat.

The 2538 is an HST. The 2540 is a shuttle... My property is very well suited to an HST. (Today's comparison would be the 2638 and 2545)

Aside from slightly higher loader capacity and also clear foot guards, there wasn't much else I wanted from the 2540 save for that suspension seat. Also at the time the 2540 was almost $2,000 more expensive. Hope that helps.
