1500D Starter

The starter on my 1500D is toast. Took it to the local starter repair shop and they said that it has a lot of burnt out components and they are have trouble finding anything to repair it with.

Other than the $350ish version replacement, does anyone know of any cross reference starters that can serve as a replacement? Or does anyone know of any additional suppliers (I have checked CL, ebay, etc...). It has 11 teeth if this helps. Thanks for any help.

Have no idea about quality but it would be hard to beat the price. STARTER YANMAR TRACTOR 1300 1301 1401 1500 155 165 169 | eBay Woops, just noticed it has 9 teeth.

There is someone in the Minneapolis area selling a rebuilt starter for a 1500 for $150. Maybe they would be willing to ship it? I've been seeing it on the Minneapolis craigslist site for many months so maybe they will be flexible on the price too? Here's the link:

Hoye sells the parts to rebuild your starter. Ask what they need and see what those parts will cost to source through Hoye, then decied if a rebuild it out of the question.
