1445 Question

I just got a 2003 1445 that seems to be a good machine. In checking it over there is a vent / breather tube next to the transaxle dip stick. It obviously had a hose connected to it, and the parts explosion on JD shows a tube. But I cannot figure out where the other end of the hose goes. Stopped by my closest JD dealer today as I was going by (30 miles away). They could not figure it out from parts or maintenance manuals and none of them recall working on one. I have checked air cleaner housing and no place for hookup there - and no anchoring points I can see anywhere. Anyone out there own one of these and can tell me where the hose goes to and what it hooks to? Thanks.

No - I am guessing that is from a lawn tractor. This is a 1445 mower, front deck.

Hopefully that link works - from the JD Parts Catalog. You can see the elbow that screws into the top of the transaxle, the hose that attaches to it and then shows the other end and clamp. But no indication what it fastens to. Sometimes they give a length of hose but in this case just list it as hydraulic hose.

I don't know but that hose No 32 is about $75 so it must be really special.
