Can't remember....
Massey Guys, I was checking out a couple of M-F's over the weekend, particularly the 1440V. I'm wondering if you can tell me how the PTO works? I see the lever for the PTO is on the back but don't understand exactly how that works.
TIA, KO

Kiohio:

When I was looking at them dealer told me to engage the P.T.O. you had to push the lever down on the back of the tractor to engage the gears and the elect. switch on the dash is used to turn it off and on. Why it's done this was I have no clue, maybe someone here can help.

That lever on the back is used to disengage the PTO and let it free wheel to engage an implement. The PTO is then operated by electro-hydraulic switch on the steering column. That lever will also let you disengaged the rear PTO and let you use the mid PTO independently.
