Hello All,
I was trying to adjust the brakes on my Yanmar 1401D, I understad the brake adjustment using the linkage and have made adjustment using this, but how about the brakes themselves, is there an adjustment there as well? if so, how do you do this? Are these disc or drum brakes? How far down should the brake pedal go down before engaging?
Thank you all in advance,
Rick

They have drum brakes. The larger ones have a cam you can adjust the shoes with. It is located opposite the lever the rod connects to. There is a headless bolt with a screw driver slot and a lock nut. Somewhere in the archive this is discussed, but I think around an inch of travel in the pedal.
