I would like to check the resistance of my glow plugs to see if all are operating. Do I have to remove the injector pump to get them out? There does not appear to be much room to even remove the gang strip. Thx

If you can see and get to the tips of the plugs you don't have to remove them, just test to the tip and the ground (the side) of the plug.

BLK6RL,
Hi I have the 1260 also and I have the book.
I looked up the removal of the glow plugs in my book. Not much there. It reads as follows.

"Removal
Remove the connector by loosening the glow plug nut installed on the cylinder head.

Remove the glow plug.

Inspection
Check for continuity across the sheath and center electrode. if there is no resistance, it indicates a short circuit, so replace the glow plug. If the resistance is infinite, it shows that pre-heating coil is burnt out, so replace the glow plug.

Re-installation
Install the glow plug

Install the nut on the glow plug and connect the connector."

Standard value 2.0 OHMS

This is as written in the book. I hope it helps the book doesn't cover the removal of all the other stuff in the way.
Good luck
Phil
