1199B 3 point backhoe

I have a 1199B 3pt backhoe manufactured by Long Manufacturing N.C. Inc. which is out of business and i need to replace the 540 rpm pto hydraulic pump. I have found plenty but have had difficulty discovering how many GPM I need to operate without it jerking or operating too slow. My research indicates a pump that provides no more than 10 GPM. Anyone know for sure? Thanks for any feedback. Good forum. David

You can vary the pump flow rate by changing your tractor engine speed. A pump rated for 10 GPM @ 540 RPM PTO speed may only produce 3 - 4 GPM with the tractor at idle.

Found a website with specs that stated 10 GPM max.

Try doing a search for long 1198b manual.

Thanks oldnslo. I have the owners manual but it isn't clear. I knew it was probably like our John Deere 3 pt from back on the farm. Everything depended upon RPM. Just didn't want to get into the realm of a really quick, jerky operation. Been there, done that.
