Last week I got a chance to drive a 110 around for awhile and am still sorting out my impressions. One thing puzzled me was I expected it would rev up for loads and then to drop back to idle when I took my foot off the go pedal. But it seemed to want me to advance the throttle by hand. Is that the trick? Or did I miss something?
Thanks, scotty

That is how they are supposed to work.

Think of the hand throttle as being an engine speed governor. Set it for 2000 RPM, and it will hold 2000 RPM almost independent of load, automatically increasing fuel as load varies. The foot pedals increase or decrease hydraulic flow to the transmission.

This is really convenient once you get used to it. For instance, for good FEL response, I need to run at 2000-2400 RPM. For backhoe work, the movements are jerky if I run the engine speed over 1400, and 1350 might be best for me.
