Hello all, I have a Cub 1050 I bought last fall and keep having pto problems? 1) Sometimes when I forget to push the button for the reverse safety switch the blades shutdown like they should, but won't engage when I try to egage them again. I have tapped the relay and they start back up. 2)Now this time I had just mowed the lawn and noticed by the cut, the blades needed sharpened, so I removed them and replaced the deck and all is replaced correctly, but now the blades won't engage at all. It sounds like they're trying to engage and the engine kicksdown some, but nothing!!! Can anyone shed light on this problem? Thanks, Glenn /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Make sure the belt is installed correctly; sounds like it is bound up or not routed correctly. The relays can act up if moisture gets to them. Remove the 20 amp fuse holder and relay from frame mount. Untape them. Sometimes the leads to the fuse holder do not seat properly. Be very safe and with tractor running; pull pto switch to the on postion; if it does not engage; wiggle one wire at a time on the fuse holder. You will know which wire is loose when it starts. If this does not work tap relay; also wiggle wires. If this does not work ; replace the relay; ( should be under warranty). Make sure belt is routed correctly FIRST>

Thanks dqdave1, i'll recheck the belt, but it on there just like the picture shows (You never Know). I'll also check that wiring to the relay. It's a very good machine, it just having a moment. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif This site is great.

dqdave, thanks again for your help. I rechecked the belt and you were correct, I had the belt around one of the idler pulleys wrong /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. The cub is running strong again. Thanks, Glenn
