1042 deck ?

my 2006 1042 manual tells me to grease the deck spindles. butt dont show where the grease fittings are. ive looked everywhere i possibly can think and then some. there are no grease fitings anywhere. my neighbor has a 1515 and his is on top of the spindles.does anyone know anything about this?

Maybe they are sealed on yours? If you had zerks, they would be out the top, center of the belt pullies.

Someone remarked a while back that their fittings were under the deck.Sort of like the spindles were assembled backwards??

I my fittings are in the front but they are low on the shaft, almost hidden. I needed a flex hose to get to them.

i have looked and felt the spindles over very good with the deck off and there is no zerk ? my brochure tells me i have them and my manual tells me to grease them ?

i called another cub dealer in town today and they told me there is 2 deck spindles for the 1042? 1 with zerks and one without ? and he told me to call the dealer that i bought it from becuse they dont make money off warranty work ?

My 1042 has fittings on top side of the deck. I have to remove the metal belt/pulley guards to get to them, one on each side of deck. There are 3 metal screws on each gard.

Give the quill housings a good look over , mine were right at midway of casting. I had to remove pulley guards in order to reach them ! I also had to purchase special grease swivel for my grease-gun. I'm thinking of putting some remote lines at a more accessible place! Hope this was a help JEEWHIZ

same thing here...couldn't find them on my LT1042 i bought in Apr 05'
