Hey, this might sound like a crazy question, but I noticed the other day that my neighbor has a JD2210 with a 210 loader on the front. It look startlingly similar to the 1026R that I have been looking to buy so i decided to do some research and on paper, they look VERY similar.

I decided to look around and have found a number of used 2210s (2004-2005) around 150hrs with a MMM and 210 loader for around $9500.

I also noticed the 2305s have almost the same specs...

Obviously, the price for a 1026R with MMM and H210 will be a lot closer to $16k.

I know that NEW is different then USED and I know that price is not comparable...but what about value for what you are getting. Again, on paper, they look very similar....help me justify the price difference.

Same basic type and class of tractor. The difference? Two generations of improvements and refinements. 2210 -> 2305 -> 1026R . How much is that worth? Depends on what you want and how you will use it. The hydraulics and transmission have definitely been improved.

The redesign of the R is better in every way than it's yanmar predecessors. It's more powerful, faster, easier, more comfortable, and nicer looking. Those points are not arguable. However, their values are. Is the R worth 80% more than the 2210? Can the R do twice the work? Will the R last twice as long?
The forum can not justify spending so much money on a lawn tractor for you. You'll have to take full responsibility for that.

if you are considering the 260 backhoe

2210 - requires 3pt arms to lift mower
2305 - hyd lift option to lift the mower - no 3pt arms
1026 - 260 backhoe docs state mech or hyd lift - no 3pt arms required

just traded my 2210 for the 1026 waiting to confirm the difference - i kept my 260 - the 260/1026 docs are not very good in such a situation

if you are looking to save cash the 2305 vs the 2210 is the way to go if you plan to keep the machine for a long time and add too it - ie backhoe

also the transmission cooling fan and filter
2210 - yes - both exposed
2305 - yes - both exposed
1026 - no - cooler and filter relocated

if you shop for either a 2210 or 2305 search the rear transmission for leaks

and check the access door below the brake lock to see of the u-joint(front of driveshaft) has been greased - it is not shown in the 2210 manual
