100 year old metal roof

My roof is due for a new coat of paint. The integrity is good but after 100 years, it has some rust. I'm considering putting on a coat of this stuff:

Metal Roof and Metal Siding Paint

I need to scrape it and get the rust off first.

Does anyone recommend a good way to remove rust from a tin roof? I'm realistic. It won't be perfect but I'd like to get as many years as possible out of this next coat of paint.

Also consider the kool coating stuff that lowes sells in the 5 gallon pails for metal roofs it has metal flakes in the tar stuff that float tothe top to make it aluminum color, does not come in colors other than aluminum and white for most of those though.

I have had good results with Snow Roof, or the Conklin equivalent. If the roof is flat enough to walk on it wet, pressure wash it first, let dry, and paint.
