\'03 Craftsman mower

i just inherited a 2003 craftsman mower, 15.5hp, from my grandfather. I was wondering if the pulley bearings are greasable? On my nearly 10 year old craftsman they are sealed units. Any input? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: \'03 Craftsman mower

If you don’t have a manual that tells you, go to Sears.com and type in your part number or model number and a complete schematic will come up for everything and you may be able to see if it has fittings. My guess would be sealed, I haven't looked at newer ones though. Sears website is awesome, everything I’ve ever bought from them is broken down piece by piece.

I have replaced at least 4-5 mandrels on my 1992 Craftsman. The most recent one replaced was from Sten’s, much cheaper and the bearings are replaceable. The pulley has a nut on top for disassembly, the old ones could not be taken apart and believe me I tried, with a torch and hammer and it still won.
