Auctionzip lists all manner of auctions. You can filter to some extent. You can do a distance search. Proxibid does as well, some are online only, but most have an inspection period. They will let you sort by state, plus they have a map of upcoming sales.

Simple CAD software for barns and sheds?

Thanks guys! I'll mess with the settings. Two years ago I bought a refurbished Acer for $380. Core i5 of some flavor, 8gb ram, 256gb SSD, and I'm pretty sure no video card. As I have been poking around the 'net a little bit I have been surprised to see that 8gb is still kind of the standard...

Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Thanks for posting this! I first downloaded a trial and then bought the Pro version of Home Designer. $495 was bit spendy, but I love the program and the video library/article database is fantastic. It has been a lot easier for me to grasp than expected. Unfortunately the program has exposed...

why so many jeeps now on road?

When I was 18 (in Y2K) I bought a '92 Cherokee. It had the 4.0 and could pull a lot more trailer than it could stop. It was the ultimate working and camping vehicle. I also loved the fact that it was incredibly rugged yet reasonably sized.

Why do we keep driving to far away stores that are understocked, understaffed and don't care?

I hadn't bought anything off Amazon for several months because I think Bezos is a douchebag, but this weekend I broke down and ordered a few things. Placed my order at 11:47 on Saturday night, and three items arrived before 8:00 on Sunday morning. It's kind of mind-boggling.

    Is Rural Living a Hobby?

We want to know the story on number ten! For me, at this stage of life rural living is just living. I barely have time to keep the place maintained, let alone do fun projects. That will change eventually and I do like being in the country, even though the city is rapidly encroaching.

Kubota Z726 dies when I take foot off parking brake.

Well, a little update. I went by Kubota and told the parts guys about the issue. They said it was worth trying a new seat switch and that I could bring it back if it didn't solve the problem. I asked about bringing the mower in but they said it would be a month before they could look at it. Back...

Thanks for the thoughtful replies everyone! I am definitely a bit over my head but do enjoy learning and trying to overcome obstacles. It looks like the wires terminate with the seat switch. Kubota Z726 dies when I take foot off parking brake.

The title pretty much sums it up. Last December I bought a used Z726 with around 700 hours off Iron Planet. After replacing the battery I mowed a couple of acres out back with it. Last month I did a little more cutting with it. This morning I started it up and it cranked great, but when I took...

Buying Advice  Orphan tractors - savvy bargain or sucker's bet?

Hello tractor experts, I would greatly appreciate some advice. I'm looking at USED tractors in the 40-50hp range. A heavy machine and strong front end loader, along with a hydro transmission and four wheel drive are my priorities. A skid steer type bucket would also be nice, as would rear...
