Getting crushed rock back on driveway

As you can see by the reply of another individual, there is not consensus regard using a landscape rake. I keep checking into seeing if I can rent something to try it out. I have not seen any landscape rakes or even power brooms in use in this area. The local Orscheln store has landscape...

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

I assume you have gauge wheels on your landscape rake so you can control the depth better. Thanks much.

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

Generall I use the front blade on the ATV. With deeper snow I use the front loader blade on my Farmall 340. With real deep snow I used the front blade on my John Deere 420 crawler. I have put a pipe on m ATV cutting edge so it does not bring up as much crushed rock, but it still brings up...

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

Thanks for checking. I checked the Home Depot site and the nearest Home Depot store is 42 miles away and they do not rent them. The next nearest might be 120. But I do like the idea of renting the Stihl Powebroom. For about $50 I probably can rent one long enough to do what I need. I will...

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

I try not to pack the crushed rock down too much. After it rains or with melting snow, the rock just goes into the soft clay. I have to keep working it back up. Thanks

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

Well last year when we had no snow in central Nebraska, no problem. This year with several snows and somtimes some pretty good drifts, it is hard not end up with some crushed rock off the road. The wet heavy snows are the worst because I think the snow picks up loose rock as the snow is moved.

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

It is a thought. Kind of pricy, and I checked to see if I could rent one locally. No one has them. There are Stihl dealers in my nearest town of 30,000, but not have them in stock. Thanks

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

Not plowing is not an option where the drifts are too high get through with a four-wheel drive pickup. And even if I make it through, packed down snow can become icy with freezing and thawing. Light snow is not too bad, but with heavy wet snow, it seems the snow picks up the crushed rock. I...

Getting crushed rock back on driveway

My first time post here. Each year no matter how much I try, when blading snow off my driveway, I end up getting crushed rock and gravel into the grass. I have a couple hundred feet of driveway so it takes some time to handrake the rock and gravel back on. I do have several vintage and...

    Tractor Chains---Off the Wall Question

We usually do not get that much ice here in central Nebraska, but we do get icy spots. Thanks

I put my land plane back on and that helped a lot. Thanks

    Tractor Chains---Off the Wall Question

I put a front blade on my Farmall 340 tractor with a loader. It works okay pushing snow when I leave the land plane on the rear for weight. I checked in to tire chains and for 13.6 x 36 tires they run from $600 plus tax for simple ladder chains to over $1,000 for the more sophisiticated...

Yanmar 2000BD Not started for 2 years

I had a friend who passed away. He had a 1979 2000BD Yanmar that his widow asked me to get started. It ran two years ago but he never started it again once he got sick. I have a passing familiarity with old tractors (mostly Farmalls from the 1940s and 1950s) but I am not an accomplished...

Rear Blade Land Leveler/Grader Blade/Land Plane

The Farmall 340 is not painted up, but the engine has been overhauled. While not rare, it is not common. I think they only made 7,000 or so of the Farmall 340 and International (Utility) 340s. It is my "modern" workhorse tractor.

Rear Blade  Land Leveler/Grader Blade/Land Plane

I am a newbie here and getting ready to pull the trigger on a land leveler/grader blade/land plane (or whatever they are called). I have about 3/8s of a mile of gravel road to maintain, and I end up adding rock or crushed concrete to it about every year. The soil is clay and the gravel, etc...
