    3255 3rd Function Solenoid Wiring

Hey all - I finally got a loader for my JD3255 and rather than use the old crusty and half broken two handle controls I went ahead and got a new valve and joystick setup. This one. I have the loader mounted. The valves all plumbed. The loader raises and lowers. What I can't figure out is how I...

Even with the exchange, that should only be about $70 CAD. Fortunately I don't need to replace them all, just 2 or 3. The spacers I will have fabbed in town next time I get a chance to go in.

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

Bringing this thread back from the almost dead. I finally managed to land a 260 with the right mounting frames, valve, joystick etc at auction. Needs a bit of work. Mainly a couple of the fastening pins on the pivots are either cobbled back together or replaced with a hitch pin. Does anyone...

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

Totally. Definitely not my preference, but I am finding these mounts quite hard to come by up in Canada. I do see them more often down there, but with borders closed until who knows when, it gets harder to get them home. Basically looking to see if there are other feasible alternatives. I will...

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

So I ended up missing out on that 260 unfortunately. There are a few other options around, but not with the right mounts yet. So my question is this: Would other mounts, say for a 7000 series (or any others) fit the frame if I were able to have the arms to the rear axle fabricated and welded...

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

That I don't know yet. The tractor isn't where I am at right now, so I will have to check when it is. If it doesn't are they difficult to come by? I just did a quick Google search that didn't bring up much of anything.

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

From everything I have seen, the 3255 is the same. Hoses feed from the loader into that box and joystick out and up into the cab. This is the first time I've actually had to fit a loader to a tractor and not just come with it and I am finding these Mannheim machines to be a challenge.

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

Thanks Jim that would be amazing if they do as the package has the valve for the 2950 as well. I think I actually saw another post of yours elsewhere that made me aware of all the compatible mounts. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge.

    John Deere 3255 Loader Plumbing

Hey gang - I have a 1992 3255 that I am looking to put a loader on. I have found a 260 with frame mounts for the 2950 which I beleive are the same with the supports to the rear axle. It comes with the loader, bucket, grabble and joystick. Next step is I need to figure out what else I am going...

    John Deere 3255 FEL Mounts

Hey folks, I am in the process of purchasing a 1992 JD 3255. I need to equip it with a loader. I can't make heads or tails of compatible loaders and mount combinations. I have a lead on a 640 Loader. Would this fit and what mounts would I need? Trying to sort this out before I make the...

    Versatile 150 Wheel Broke

Hey folks - quick question about a Versatile 150 for anyone in the know. I am a Massey guy with little knowledge of these machines. There is one for sale locally that would be handy to have around if the price is right. It is said to run strong but they had a wheel come off over the winter...

    Needle Yoke Brake Pads/Lining (IH47)

I was recently given an IH 47 square baler. Had some issues that I think I have now finally corrected with the knotter. The other issue I have been having is the needles entering the chamber early sometimes and the plunger hitting the stopper leading to a pile of shear bolts shearing. The...

    MF 1080 Hydraulic Fluid Fill

Hey Guys - where does one fill the hydraulic fluid on a 1080? Looking through the manuals I have doesn't specify. Is it hiding under the operator platform? Just want to be sure as I would rather not have to pull the platform off at -20 in the snow if I don't have to.

    Tire Chains DIY

I have a Massey 35 I have been using for plowing snow. But I need chains. I have access to a lot of chain for nothing so I was looking at fabricating my own from that. I've seen calculations to determine chain dimensions, but his far they don't make a lot of sense to me. Anyone know the actual...

    Mac's 8N

Hey guys Recently picked up an old 8N to tinker with. Figured rather than starting a ton of different threads I'd just start one and see how that worked. Not certain of the year but it is a front distributor. Still 6v. It was running, but rough. Starved for fuel and a sometimes sticky carb...

Cleaning Gas Tank on Ford 8N

Picked up an old 8n recently for next to nothing. The guy suggested it probably needed a tank cleaning. It also had an inline fuel filter I wanted to remove and get back to proper fuel lines. I got the hood off no problem, have tank drained, sediment bowl assembly apart etc. A few questions...

    Replacing fuel injection pump

Hey folks Looks like I need to replace the fuel injection pump on my old Massey 1080. I have the replacement pump here now but my challenge is getting the damned fuel lines out of the old pump. Do I just keep pulling and pulling or is there some other trick. I assume the old rubber sleeves are...

    Massey 1080 Won't Start

Hey Guys, I have a Massey 1080 with the Perkins deisel that doesn't want to start for me anymore. I had a problem in the winter where it didnt want to start as well, but come spring we were able to change the fuel filters, got it primed, and was then running fine. A few weeks later it seems...

MF 1080 Tach or Tach Cable?

The tach on our MF 1080 doesn't work. Basically the needle bounces from zero to a bit above when the engine revs, but it seems like it has more to do with the vibrations of the tractor than anything else. It is never steady anywhere except zero at idle. Is there any way determine the cause...

    Attachment Sizes/Ratings

I am looking for a few attachments for the tractor. Namely a box blade for driveway work and general leveling and a 3pt rear blade for snow removal. I notice a lot of them mention for up to 25hp or 25-40hp etc. What is the purpose of these ratings? Would using one on a larger tractor cause...

MF 1080 Alternator and Voltage Regulator

Hey folks, So the charging system on the MF 1080 I recently purchased doesn't charge the battery. Massey 390 Three Point Controls?

Hey folks, a buddy just picked up an MF390 and there were a few things we couldn't figure out. When sitting in the seat, the PTO clutch is on your left. On your right are your standard hydraulic controls. Additionally on the right, between the seat and the hydros, there are two more. One...

Massey 1080 - Top Link Part Number

Hi Folks, Our Massey 1080 came to us without a top link for the 3 point hitch. It has been used just for moving round bales around a local ranch for the last few years so he hadn't been using the hitch. Anyhow, I want to replace it, but hoping someone out there knows the part number so I can...
