Hey, anyone interested in hauling a Unimog I just purchased from Ashland, MO to Fairport, NY ? Truck runs and drives so loading it onto a trailer should not be a problem. Truck weighs 7900lbs, and measures 16 1/2 feet X 6 1/2 feet wide X 7 1/2 feet tall. If anyone is interested please send me a...
I just took this 10 ton PTO driven winch off of a Unimog that I am parting out. It is a Garwood. Anyone have a need for one, as I sure don't! The drum turns when you turn the sprocket, but it is missing the drum lock handle. I just put a vice grip on it to move it, so I don't think it would be...
Hi guys, thought I will share some photos of my latest Unimog! It is a 1979 model 416L which is very rare with its 20" longer wheel base than a normal 416. Has only 49k mile and 2250 hours on it. Comes with a 20 speed transmission, front and rear PTO's, hydraulics and a 8'x6.5' three way dump...
Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Santa stopped by my house to pick up his new ride, so he should be able to make it to everyone's home this season!
I took these hydraulic cyl. off of a Unimog that I am parting out. They were used on a rail unit and would raise and lower the rail wheels. They are 2" diameter with a 10" stroke with a 1" rod with swivel ends that take a 3/4" pin, just like the top link on my Kubota. Would they be too light...

I don't always look up Kubota on my local Craig's list, but maybe once every few weeks. Just happened to do so last Sat. Just listed a Curtis cab with some photos and very little info. So I emailed the seller and got the scoop on it. Came off of a B7800 that the seller bought used with 106 hours...
The mower deck gauge wheels on my 99' B2710 with a RC72-27B are shot. They have separated from the metal sleeve in the center. I need to replace all 4 and just about had a heart attack when I saw what Kubota whats for them! $78.20 each! So I was wondering if anyone knows of a suitable...
Hi all!! I haven't been here for quite sometime! Although I do peek in from time to time, just to make sure you guys aren't causing too much trouble with your tractors!! I still have my Kubota, but I think my son uses it more than I do. And I still drag home all kinds of stuff (my wife calls it...
The present owner of the DoKa that I restored is looking to sell it now. He has only put about 50 miles on it since buying it last fall! States that he does not have the time to drive it, and that its just too nice to take off road at has hunting camp. So he has asked me if I could broker the...

I need to have the two Unimogs that I just bought in Tenn. hauled up to NY. Anyone know of a trucker coming this way or of a site on the net that truckers go to, to find someone who can haul them up here. Thanks, Von

unimog photos
After a long year and lots of hard work I am just about done with the Unimog. Only thing to do is build the bed in the back. She runs great and flies down the road at a blistering 55MPH! ( I need to crank up the fuel injection a bit!) So Here are some photos from tonight. Von
Well after months of hard work, I finally got my cab painted!! Its painted
a metallic copper with silver metallic roof and stripes on the bottom of
the belt line. Now I can start to put everything back on it and get it on
the
chassis, Boy I hope I remember where everything all goes! I hope to...
After 50 years of service my air compressor pump is in need of a rebuild! I guess all that sandblasting and grinding on the Unimog was just too much for the old girl. But there are no makers names or markings. Just a date cast right into it! (10-24-55) I need some help in identifying the pump to...
I put my front mount snow blower on my Kubota B2710 last Thurs. and I fired up the PTO with just the one drive shaft hooked up. It runs from the mid PTO to the stationary shaft on the snow blower mount frame. Last year I had quite a bit of vibration from the shaft. I thought it was because I had...
I\'m selling my Zamboni, anyone interested?
Its with a heavy heart that I am going to be selling my Zamboni. Its a 1968 and runs pretty good for an old gal. (see attached photo) With one child going to away to school this fall, and wanting to finish the Unimog by the winter something has to...
A week ago or so there was a post about the original 100 members and if they still posted. Original members Anyway I was mentioned as one of the early members. I joked about getting a free hat for being here so long! Well it really happened!!.... Muhammad asked me for my address and sent me a...
Well I think I found a crewcab (see photo attached) for my Unimog! The only problem is that its on OR and I live in NY. It will have to be crated and will measure about 108"x76"x66" and weigh about 1100lbs. Anyone know of a way to get in to NY cheap? Anyone living out that way want to come out...
Used my "new to me" tiller this morning, and I was using 2k RPM's on the motor. I think full PTO speed (540 RPM) would be way too much when tilling. Or is that what you want? I had no problem with it chewing up sod as well as turning over the garden. I didn't get any books with the tiller, so I...
I just got this email from someone who states he is in Finland. Got my name off of a UNIMOG EXCHANGE, a site that is for listing trucks and parts. I have two sets of Schmidt plow castor wheels for sale. New they list for over a $1k a set, I'm asking $500 for both sets. Here is the email that I...
Some of you may have seen my post on the Unimog rebuild that I am currently doing. I have the motor out and tomorrow will pull the tranny. Then I can start on removing the axles and get down to the frame. I want to sandblast the frame down Then I am just going to pressure wash and wirebrush the...
Well since I have convinced the wife that the Unimog was a good investment, and is worth way more restored I have started to strip it down to the frame. Besides this is the only way to fit it into the shop to work on it! In this photo you can see that I just got the Case rear deck off. The...
I just got back from Boston this week and had some time to work on the Unimog tonight. Well the mice really did a number on the wiring, so I had to bypass the whole electrical system. Changed the oil and filters and new fuel and filters. Put in a battery and after a few tries it fired over Boy...
Man, what a bummer! It was hardly off of the flatbed and the wife says either it goes or I have to! I told her I bought her a Benz, but I think she had her heart on something a little smaller! Its a real "rot box" and I don't even know if it runs! But it was well worth the little money that...
My cousin had a varmint hunting contest this past weekend. Lot of snow to deal with, so I got nothing with calling. The guys that came in first place with dogs give me this photo that they took the week before! Happened on lake Ontario. The dogs bayed up when the Coyote ran out of room to run...
I got this tiller from my neighbor for $600. It is a Pegoraro 51" with slip clutch, Is made in Italy.(see attached photo) Has less than 25 hrs. on it, and looks like new, other than the dust! Came with a few new blades as well! Even the color is right for my tractor. Does anyone know anything...
I saw this tractor along the road last week, (looks to be a Kubota B8200) must have just happened than. (didn't have the camera that day) Went by this morning and it was still there. From as far as I can figure out, the owner must have been plowing the driveway to the house on top of the hill. I...
It\'s confirmed! Front mount blower is way to go!
Now that we have had some cold and snow I can confirm that my new (to me anyway) front mount blower for my B2710 is the way to go for moving snow! We have been getting snow every night for the past week (about 4"-8"at a time) and the blower...
I just got an email that the inlaws and whole family, (they are desending at my house as I type this) for xmas They sent a photo of their caravan!
Well try to have a good holiday all!
My neighbor offered to sell me his 4ft Palladino rototiller for $600.00. It has no more than 25 hours on it and looks like new. He got it 15 years ago when he got his tractor and has not used it for the past 8 years. One thing that concerns me is can I get parts for it if needed, and are they...
Well the crack in my mower deck is back This time its right next to the weld that was to repair the last crack. (see top photo) The next photo is after grinding the area for welding and after drilling a hole to stop the crack from spreading. Next photo is after welding, and the last one shows...
I just got new tires for my tractor, and I had SLIME in my old ones. The dealer stated that the SLIME was bad for the tires, in that it would over time soften them up so bad that they fall apart from the inside out! I asked what would work, and of course they said that the JD sealer didn't do...
I just got two new front turf tires for my Kubota B2710, as the original Carlisle "Turf Master" ones were shot after 465 hours. I ordered Titan "Multi-Trac" 23x8.50x12 in 6 ply. I got them thru the local JD dealer about 2 miles away. He had one in stock and had to order the other one. Anyway the...
I converted my "new to me" KUBOTA B2660 snowblower chute to electric! After making the blower fit my tractor the only thing left to do was the crank for the chute. It was quite a reach for the handle and looked like it was going to be a pain in the A**. So off to the local junk yard for a window...
Does anyone know where I can find a mower deck for a Case 222? the mower model is a J-40. I need to find a replacement for my dad's tractor. Even if I can just get the steel deck and change everything over to the new one. If anyone knows of a sorce please let me know. Thanks, Von
I got sick of having a better crop of weeds than I do of veggies! So I had this idea of using the 3' wide black plastic between the rows and wood chips as cover between the plants. Since we had the big ice storm here in April the town has piles of free wood chips, you just have to haul them. So...
Hi all, I am looking for a good used 2 row corn planter that will fit on the 3 pt. of a CUT. My neighbor and hunting partner and I want to plant about 2-3 acres of feed corn as food plots. He has a JD 755 and I have a B2710, so it will have to be able to work with these size tractors. If anyone...
Went to TSC this morning and was looking at a King Kutter carry-all. Will this work for moving pallets of firewood? or will it not go low enough to slide under the pallets? I have a Kubota B2710. The price at TSC was $75.00.
Picked up a MTD 5hp. chipper/ shredder today at a garage sale for $60.00. It states that it will chip up to 3" and the shredder will work on stuff up to 1/2". The guy who owned it was moving down south and everything had to go! It had not been used for 3 years and looks like new. I was...
Crack in my 72\" mid mower deck (pix)
Gave the mower deck a bath and this is what I found The crack is about 1 3/4" long and growing! It is on the back of the deck on the right side. anyone else have this problem? Its a simple fix with the mig welder, and I don't mind. But these decks are...
I'm sorry if I sound mad But I can't understand why this site won't work with a MAC when the old one did. I can't read a post in Netscape in flat mode because of overlap. And it won't even open in IE without crashing. This is on two different MAC's on different servers. Come on Muhammad have...
Muhammad,
The new system does not work with a MAC using IE. In fact it causes IE to crash and shut off. I just get a system two error message when I try to get into the forums. Also there are many glitches with NETSCAPE as well. I hope you can fix these problems fast! I hate to think of...
Last year someone asked for a photo of an action shot of the Zamboni. I was out there by myself so this will have to do! With all this cold weather we have had this year these two toys have been busy! I was out flooding the rink last night at 12:00 am, temp a brisk -7! talk about cold!!...But...
I filled my tractor up yesterday and now have a small leak coming from the sending unit. Had to pull the dash to find it. Has anyone else had this problem? Any Kubota tecs seen this before? and if so what is the fix? I think I'm safe if I don't fill it quite so full. I'll have to run it to see...
I was giving the roof of my antique shop a coat of the silver roof coating today, when I made the mistake of stepping where I just put a coat down! landed flat on my back and started to slide down the roof! Got lucky and was able to roll to where I haven't put any yet and stopped sliding. Its...
This was in today's local paper, enjoy!A Canandaigua man has more than 300 antique tractors.CANANDAIGUA - Judging by the visitors who stop to see Jim Erdle's tractors, his collection is world-famous.A group of about 50 tourists from the Netherlands and Belgium stopped at Erdle's home in...
My son got a candy bar at the store on Monday, for the ride home from the cottage. He ate half and then was about to eat the rest when he asked "what's this web stuff on my candy bar"? My wife took a look at it and pulled the bar out of the wrapper and this little guy had beat my son to the...

I found this HOWSE 5ft. brush hog on Ebay. The seller lives in the next town over. Since I have one but my nieghbor who borrows mine all the time doesen't, and needs one he paid $40.00 for it. So we are going to pick it up after dinner. It will need some welding done to it and new blades and...
Has anyone changed over the B2710 seat bracket to the B2910 spring seat bracket? If so, what parts were needed and how much was it?Also do you think that the gray inter fender skirts are needed. They fit between the fender and seat. The B2710 does not have them. Thanks.
Heres a group photo of some of the TBN members that showed up at Farm days today! Guess who's who and will tell later. Here are some names to guess from: Boondox and wife

I am thinking of adding a winch to my trailer for the times I need to tow a car. Seems I need one more and more, but I'm cheap so I can't seem find one priced right. Untill now!
here are the specs from harbor freight:12 VOLT PORTABLE ELECTRIC WINCH Recover vehicles, trailer your boat, pull...
I am going to spray my five acres of yard this evening with Amine 400 2,4D for broad leaf weed control. I do this once a year, and get an alright "kill". But I read some where on the internet to add dishwashing soap to the mix to lower the surface tension of the plants leafs. Does anyone know...
I forgot to take some BEFORE photos, but here are some with it apart so we can paint the green. The tractor belongs to my neighbor and good hunting buddy. He just got it used about 2 months ago. Its an 88' with only 475 hrs. The paint was not bad, but didn't match the newly painted hood and...
My son and I were at my antique shop and saw about 7 police cars and 6 fire trucks go by. So we closed a little early and went to see what was up. (See attached photos) This is all happening as I type this now, as it happened about 20 min. ago. Happened on the NYS Thruway in Victor,NY. I don't...
See attached photos. Just got my car out of storage. With this cold wet spring, and being pulled in all different directions I couldn't find the time to do it before now. Had to get a new battery as the old one would not hold a charge. Car is a 76' 911S with only 40k miles. Car is all original...
Just had to show off my new hitch reciever that I made. Total cost was about $1.00 for the welding wire and electric for the welder! made from all scrap that I had around and a old trailer hitch that someone gave me. The top part is off of my tractor where I changed over to the heavy duty top...
Hi. I need some help from the TBN brain truss. I have lichens growing on my roof on the north side only. How can I remove them without damaging the shingles? (Attached is a photo of them). Will a pressure washer damage the shingles? or is there some sort of chemical that will kill them and...
I picked up a very used Howse rotory cutter 2 years ago for $175.00. Had to weld it back together and repainted it. It has worked fine ever since. The blades were alittle bent and had some twist to them, but for all the rocks I needed to cut in half I figured they were perfect for the task! Well...
Please stop posting while I\'m gone!
My wife and I are taking the kids down to Fla. to see Mickey Mouse and their grandparents for 8 days. With so many new post every day there is no way I will be able to catch up. So If you guys don't mind just read the archives for a week! This way I won't...
On tuesday I found a great deal on a JD 755 with FEL and 6ft. rear blade with 421 hrs. for $8k. I was thinking of buying it and reselling it for a quick $2k profit, but instead I told my hunting buddy and neighbor about it. Well this evening he drove over with his "new to him" toy.... I mean...
Well I just found out that the last wind storm took out a large tree on the top of my hill. Right into the neighbors yard! (he must be south for the winter, as he is the type to complain the next day) Anyway I went to get the big saw (the homelite XP1000, 30" bar) and it won't start. Its got...
Frank, I know that you are in Buffalo, NY and got over 25" of the white stuff yesterday. Here in Rochester the grass is still green! and we are only about 60 miles east of you! Have fun digging out! and send some this way when you get a chance, I want to try my new snow blower.
OK guys I need some help. My Zamboni runs Jeep axles and I can't get the rear brake drum off on one side. It was made in 67' and has a DANA 44 rear end, and I don't think it was ever taken apart before this. The axle shaft is tapered on the end with a key way. The brake drum just slides on and...
I got picked up a nail with the rear tire today while cutting the grass. I know not the best way to find them! I got all of the CaCl. pumped out into a plastic barrel, and removed the tire from the rim. Cleaned everything and removed any spilled CaCl. Now do I need to replace the tube or can I...
Tire sealant \"SLIME\"
Has anyone has any experance with a product called "SLIME"?
Its a tire sealant that you put in your tires to prevent leaks before they happen. I have slow rim leaks on both front tires on my tractor and just added some to the tires. Did I waste my money ($10.00 to do both...
I figured out a way to hold down my tractor without scratching up the paint. I use two clevises, one from the drawbar in the rear, and one from the front frame. Works great and I'm not rapping the chain around the loader or frame like I did on my old tractor. (see photo attached)
Is anyone going to the Empire Farm Days this year? I know that Muhammad went last year and took some photos. I think I will go and see if I can find a cab for my B2710. Maybe a bunch of us can meet at the show and swap some stories, and get to shake the hands of our new friends! The show is Aug...
Does anyone know what works on keeping the grass from sticking to the bottom of the mower deck? I cleaned mine the other day and used the oil/diesel mix, and after cutting my 5 acrs. twice I had to do it all over again. I got about a wheelbarrow full. I have been cutting it in the late...
See attached photo: Does anyone have one of these weather brakes on their tractor? How does it work? does it fog up? I found this one on GEMPLER'S web site. It is priced under $300.00 But they don't say if it will fit a B2710. If it works OK I think it would be just the thing for snow blowing...
Well, I sold my B8200HST yesterday. The new owner is picking it up tomorrow afternoon! Its been one heck of a tractor, but the new B2710 sure softens the blow! At least I got to use it one last time here at my antique shop to cut the grass. Got a good price for it, now to find a cheap cab for...
Now that the photos are working here is my new to me B2710. My son is at the wheel and thinks he is ready to cut the lawn now that we have a belly mower! It has a 131 hours on the clock after today, and it is all that my B8200 was and much, much more! Still have the B8200 for sale, let your...
Went to check the air pressure in my new to me B2710 and discovered that the rear turf tires are loaded! Should I still keep the same air pressure in them as stated in the owners manual for non loaded tires? The manual does not state anything for loaded tire pressure.
Von
Now that I got my slightly used B2710 I was wondering if there are any recalls or service updates that I should be aware of. I still have over a year on the warranty, but would like to get anything done before it runs out.
Von
I changed the hydro fluid and filter today on my new to me B2710. When I got the filter I was shocked at the price. On my old B8200 the hydro filter was $32.00 and for the B2710 it was only $4.29. Of corse the Super UDT was $15.00 a gal. so I guess it all works out in the end...
I couldn't wait any longer so I paid for the B2710 today and drove it home! Got the tractor FEL. 72" mid-mount mower and 60" rear snowblower for $13500. Tractor has 126hrs. on it. Boy what a huge difference from my B8200HST! I thought I was in love before, but this thing is sweet! I said I was...
If anyone is looking for a good tractor, look on ebay for my B8200. Just do a search for Kubota and look for B8200HST. Lots of photos to see of it. Its item # 582681600 Thanks, Von
I haven't picked up my B2710 yet as I still have to sell my B8200. But I am out of fuel and was just about to go to the neighbors farm and get another 35 gal. of good ol' #2 diesel with the red dye in it. Can I use this in my new B2710? Or do I have to use low sulfur on-road fuel? inquiring...
I just made a deal to buy a B2710 so I now have to sell my trusted B8200HST with turfs, FEL and a 6ft. finish mower. I'm in N.Y. if you have any interest feel free to email me for info.
Successful Hunter\'s photos
After seeing the photos of COWBOYDOC's grandpa's moose in the wildgame post, and by reading the profiles I see that there are alot of hunter's here on TBN. So I thought others would like to see who has been successful out in the wood and fields. Oh don't forget the...
Boy my B8200 and neighbor saved the day today! With all of the warm weather that we had last week I lost alot of ice on the skating rink. I got my Zamboni stuck when it fell thru the ice on the rink today, it held the Kubota with no problems. I guess 6800lbs. is a little more than the Kubota...
Hey guys,
I got this e-mail yesterday and was wondering if this is true or not, and has any one else heard of this.
I guess the warnings were true. Federal Bill 602P

This is the best way to get them out of the woods! Got this one with the bow, and tomorrow is opening day for the gun. So I hope I have to fire up the mighty Kubota sometime in the morning and do it all over again!
Von
I took my B8200 out in the woods today to get this monster out! I must have caught a stick or something as now my powersteering is leaking from one of the hoses. Or it just might have given up with all the weight in the bucket! Oh well, at least its an easy fix. As for the deer, what makes it...
By, I'm getting like Harv here with the photos! Here are a few shots of my shop that I built about 4 years ago. It is 24' X 26' and has cement on both floors. Thats my Zamboni on the top floor, just pulled it in to get it ready for the upcoming season.
Von
Harv, You asked for it! I took some photos of some of the usefull things I welded up to make life a little easier. Here is a 5 ft. roller that comes in handy in the spring time to stop the rocks from growing. Weighs about 1200lbs. when filled.
Von
Here is a photo of the stand that I made for my rake so I can roll it thru a 6 ft. door opening. It is held on by 4 pins and works great. Now I can just roll the rake out the door and right up to the tractor to mount on the 3 pt. Cost was about $2.00 for the spray paint, the rest was just scrap...
Here are a few photos of my B8200 on a 16 ft. trailer. The wheel of the rotery cutter hangs of the front and the rake is hanging off the back. I only have to go about 10 miles like so its not to bad. Plus both the rotory cutter and the rake stay here at my antique shop so the ride home is alot...
I know this is not tractor related, but I also know that a good deal of us are hunters. Yesterday when I got into a tree stand for bow hunting behind my house. I noticed something in a tree about 20yds. away that was not there the day before. I got the binocs. out and could only make out a...
I just got a great deal on a 6ft rake made by Howse from Central Tractor. They don't carry that brand any more and sold this one minus top part of three pt. and missing the tires and yokes for $100.00. Got the top part done already and just need to know what size tires to get and I can weld up...
Sorry to upset all the good people in Texas, but I am getting just alittle tired of cutting the grass every 4-5 days. It rains almost every other day here in western NY and the grass is growing like early May. I have 5ac. of yard here, and another 3ac. at my shop. It seems that all I do is cut...
I just got back from my local dealer and had to listen to how they were all going to be on welfare because of the internet. I asked for his best quote on a B2910 with turfs, FEL and 72" mid deck and was quoted $20500+ 8% sales tax. Thats only $3700 (with the tax) more than What Carver has posted...
Quotes on B2910 W/ FEL and 72\" mid mower
Well I think I finally have myself convenced that it's time to upgrade to a B2910HSD W/FEL and a 72" mid mower and turf tires. The wife says if I had a mid mower she would help mow and would let the kids do it as well. What I need is all these internet...
